My YSR Story

I have always been into motorcycles and cars. It all started When I was a younger kid I would ride on my street with all of my frineds and we would call out fast motorcycle names (crotch rockets) as we ride around. Back in the time everyone always called out the KAWASAKI Ninja, too young to know the CC's and anything else on the bike. We would also watch cars and motorcycles on the end of our block to see cool ones that we would call out "ITS MINE" and so that is where I started to learn everything visual about who made what kind of car or bike. I remember i had bought a magizine when I was at Super One in West Duluth, and it featured my favorite of all time bike the Hayabusa made by SUZUKI i fell in love with it the second I saw it. By this time I was a freshman in highschool itching for speed. I had riden around the block on a friends HONDA
Trail-90, that was the first bike i have ever rode on. I couldn't get enough. I wanted my very own but I could not afford it and I had no use for an off-road  bike because I didnt have many places to ride it witout making the neiborhood mad at me, so I decided to wait. I then became good friends with a kid my brothers age (we meet when I started running in Highschool) he was HUGE into mini's liek Trail CT 70's and Z50's and we also shared the same emotions tward cars. After a few weeks of knowing eachother we decides to go for a ride, so we went to my house so I could use the Trail-90 and Chad brought ONE of his many CT 70's. We rode for a couple of hours and had a blast. After that we were more into cars for a while but then the bike bug came back my 1st year into college.

YSR50 1987

1987 YSR 50, bought it in almost fall 2002

I was at Chads house and we were looking through brochures becasue he had just got a HONDA z50 (looked liek a pile) and he told me that he could ride this one on the street. I was in AWW so back to the brochures. We were looking in a YAMAHA 1992 brochure and i saw it a YSR50 the most beautiful mini i had ever seen! I looked at chad and said I'm gettin it!!! So chad told me of a guy that had one in a "suburb" (heh) of Duluth. I checked it out and it seemed more beautiful in person. The price was high and i was low on cash and i wanted to see what else was out there. I scanned E-bay for hours at night looking at prices. A few days later I had gone back out to Chad's house and we were talking and he rememberd that another guy had one too lower miles and better condition. So obviosly we checked it out. I saw this one and i got to test drive it I WAS SOLD! I then had the problem of getting the money but i lucked out. I had a good paying job, i got 2 old z50 rolling and parted them out on ebay. I then got the best break of my life, My dad had talked to a guy at work and he had a CT 70 for sale for $150.00. I had the guy bring it over and sure enough i bought it on the spot. I soon parted that bike out and made a good profit, well enough to get my YSR!! So for that few months I had to ride it ... let me tell you ....... I RODE IT!!! i put on at least 1000 miles in the first 2-3 months owning it!!!!
